Bulls & bears

A bull or bear is a weekly stock-pick card, not a pet you have to look after.

A bull does well when the breed it grazes on ranks near the top of the week. A bear does well when its breed ranks near the bottom. Each week you decide where it grazes; each week you bet in the fences to keep it fed.

One animal, three roles

RoleWhat it isDoes it affect money?
AssetA share of the weekly Harvest for one side (bull or bear) of the breed it grazes onYes, and this is the only part that does
IdentityNumber, name, origin, recordNo
CharacterThe mascot that shows up when you bet in a fenceNo

Every animal in the same bucket gets exactly the same Harvest. A genesis bull and a bull born yesterday are paid the same, as long as both were in the pen for the whole week and fed. An old animal's appeal comes from its record and scarcity, and the market prices that, not the ranch.

Attributes

AttributeCan it change?
Side (bull / bear)Never. To switch, sell the bull and buy a bear
Pasture (which breed it grazes on)Yes, once a week for free (see below)
Number (e.g. #0042) and origin (genesis / batch N)Never
NameYes: naming burns $SRANCH, renaming burns again
Record (weeks in pen, weeks called right, streaks, badges)Only grows; derived from on-chain events

An unnamed animal shows as "NVDA · Bull #0042". The prefix is this week's pasture and changes when it moves.

Weekly grazing

RuleDetails
What you pickWhich breed it grazes on next week (never the side)
When it takes effectAt the end of the Harvest week, Friday 16:00 ET. Only your last pick counts
Quiet windowFor 24 hours after the week ends (while the week is being settled) no changes are accepted
No pickIt stays where it is
CostThe first change each week is free. From the 2nd change in the same week, burn $SRANCH: 1% of the same side's latest auction clearing price, doubling each time (2%, 4%, 8%…)
New animalsYou pick the first pasture when you claim it; otherwise it goes to the breed with the fewest animals
PublicHead counts per breed and side are public. No hidden picks

Crowding is the game. The more animals on one breed, the less each one gets. Calling an unpopular breed right pays the most.

Getting fed

Only animals that were fed this week get their share of this week's Harvest. Feeding comes from real bets in the fences: your effective stake this week covers a "ration" per head. In the app this shows as Harvest eligibility, stake needed per head and available stake; everyone is activated automatically.

See Harvest week → Fed to claim for how it's counted.

Pat (free, daily)

Tap Pat once a day to pat your whole herd. It's a wallet signature: no transaction, no gas. It only grows the record (days patted, longest streak, badges). Skip it and nothing is taken away. See Daily Three.

Levels

Levels come only from weeks in the pen and change only how the animal looks:

LevelWeeks in pen
1 · Calf0
2 · Prime4
3 · Veteran12
4 · Star26
5 · Legend52

What we don't do

Not doingWhy
Breeding new animalsIt would create Harvest shares out of thin air and dilute everyone
Levels that change HarvestVeterans would take everything
Death or "slaughter value"That would mean the ranch values animals; nobody loses an animal for no reason
Discounts on bets for holdersThey'd come out of the Harvest pool

Your bull or bear only leaves you when you sell it. No death, no starvation, no other player can take it.
