Ranch calendar
All times are US Eastern (ET) and follow daylight saving time. The heartbeat of the week is Friday's close.
| When | What happens |
|---|---|
| Mon–Fri 09:30 | Day fences open (close 16:00 the same day) |
| Monday 09:30 | Week fences open (close Friday 16:00) |
| Mon–Thu 16:00 | Night-shift fences open (close 09:30 the next day) |
| Friday 16:00 | Harvest week ends. Pasture changes take effect. Next week's focus breeds are fixed |
| Friday 20:00 | Call Monday's open fences open |
| Saturday ~16:00 | After the 24-hour grace period, the Harvest week is settled and becomes claimable |
| Weekend | The whole ranch bets on Monday's open |
| Sunday 19:00 | Monday's-open betting locks |
| Sunday 20:00+ | First price update of the overnight session → Monday's open closes |
US market holidays: that day's day fence and the night-shift fence before it don't open. The trading calendar is written into each season's contract.
Why weekends matter
Price feeds run 24/5, but tokens trade 24/7. While US stocks are shut for nearly two days, the odds people back with real money on Monday's open are one of the few live public readings of retail sentiment.
Seasons
A season lines up roughly with an earnings season (at most 13 weeks). Each season deploys a new set of fence contracts; bulls and bears, the Harvest pool, the fee splitter and the auction are permanent. Changes to the breed list are announced at least 4 weeks ahead. Old seasons' fences can always still settle and refund.
